Free: MaxMatic 3000 Undersink Waste Grinder unit (Ravelston EH4) Gifted This unit is several years old, but has had little use, is built to last a lifetime and mechanically in good condition. It went out of alignment some time ago, so the Magnetic Plug which should switch it on and off when rotated to the correct position no longer activates it. MaxMatic think it is simply out of alignment and have sent some photos (attached) to help re-align it, but it's possible that something (the Magnitube or possibly a circuit board|?) needs to be replaced in the control box (pic attached). There is no longer a Maxmatic Service Engineer in the area, so I have given up on re-aligning it, which is why it's available here. As far as I can tell, the magnetic plug which switches it on and off still works, but the black paint on it has peeled off in the lower parts which doesn't affect the visible part which looks fine. Free: BT Telephone Extension Leads (Ravelston EH4) Withdrawn Several extension leads to extend the range of your telephone. Plugs straight into a standard BT telephone socket. Will also work with Virgin Media/Telewest etc. phone lines if you have another supplier for your telephone line. Free: Bundle of ~20 Energy Saving CF Lightbulbs (Ravelston EH4) Gifted CF Lightbulbs with a mixture of power ratings and fittings, around 20 in total. The picture shows a selection and there are 11 or 12 more. Note that these are CF Compact Fluourecent light bulbs, not LED Some are ES (Screw) fitting and some are bayonet. Free: BT Telephone Ringer Extension (Loud) (Ravelston EH4) Gifted This plugs into a BT Telephone Socket at the same time as your telephone (using the adpater shown in the pic) and gives a loud ring if you sometimes miss the phone. Will also work with Virgin Media/Telewest phone lines etc. if you have another supplier for your telephone line. All you need is the standard BT socket(s) Or you can plug it into one socket while the phone is in another socket, or extend the range with an extension lead - don't miss a call while you are upstairs or in the garden! Free: BT Converse Amplified Telephones (Ravelston EH4) Withdrawn These have been in storage for some time and are a bit dusty, but were working fine when they were put away. They are amplified from the BT phone socket so do not need to be plugged into the mains, and they have plenty of amplification if you are in a noisy environment or are hard of hearing. Will also work with Virgin Media/Telewest phone lines etc. if you have another supplier for your telephone line. All you need is the standard BT socket(s) The converse 220 is newer than the 200, but doesn't have such a sharp clear sound as the older model. They have similar functions for storing numbers, redial etc. You have to press the "Amplify" button to make the amplifier and volume control work. Otherwise it operates like a normal phone. The secrecy button cuts out the microphone in the handset so the other end can't hear what you are saying. The Monitor button makes the phone operate like a speakerphone, where you still need to speak into the handset. You can also plug a headset (not included) into the Converse 220 and use that instead of the handset. Free: Windscreen Mount for Psion 5, 5mx or Sony Ericsson MC218 PDA (Ravelston EH4) Gifted This is a solid adjustable windscreen mount for a Psion 5mx or Ericsson MC218 (which is a Psion 5 Clone) It is home made from a heavy duty suction mount attached to a "Pod" holder custom made for a Psion 5 and ideal for SatNav if you have Psion SatNav installed on your PDA It is NOT suitable for a Psion 7 as the "pod" is too small

Free: Bathroom Ceiling Light fittings - Glass Globe style (Ravelston EH4) Gifted These were bought from homebase and are suitable for Zone 3 in bathrooms (clear of any spray or splashes). One of the bases was broken on removal. so there are three globes and two bases. There are rubber seals to isolate the globes from the bases. The globe diameters are about 7 inches (17 cm) for the larger one and 5.5 inches (14cm) for the smaller ones. Free: Mira 723 Thermostatic Shower Mixer control unit (Ravelston EH4) Gifted This shower mixer is used and was in working order when it was removed from the wall for a shower upgrade a few days ago It is complete, and includes a user manual which describes how to install and service it. It needs a bit of a clean-up and I'd recommend getting a service kit off Ebay (£19) to renew the internal seals The Compression fittings to attach the mixer to your hot and cold pipes are included and are still attached to the old copper pipes. You will need brass o-rings (olives) and PRTE tape to re-attach it all. You can buy a service pack for around £19 on Ebay to replace the internal seals (e.g. ) See attached pic from this item to see what this includes. Free: Two Wireless Video/Audio Transmitter/Receiver sets (Ravelston EH4) Gifted These are two pairs of wireless Video/Audio Transmitters/Receivers branded "Tevion" and sold by Aldi or Lidl. They are unused, but complete. One set still in the box and one in a bag ad it's too difficult to get the parts back on the boxe once removed. There is only on set of instructions, but everything else is still there, including the 2nd box and packaging These can transmit your TV/Video signals wirelessly from your DVD player, satellite receiver, video recorder, DVB-T receiver etc. etc. to a TV or monitor in an other room as long as both bits of hardware have SCART sockets - which most Flat-screen TVs or monitors will have. It is a bit of a fiddle setting it all up, and I never got round to completing it on the first set, never mind the second when my Humax set-top box started acting up and had to be replaced by a newer one with easier HDMI connections. The Tevion sets do NOT have HDMI connections. Free: PureOne Digital Radio (Ravelston EH4) Gifted This is complete and in full working order, complete with PSU. The sound quality is excellent and all the features are good. The drawback is that the "Soft Touch" coating on the case has become sticky in the way that soft touch plastic does over time and it needs more elbow grease and patience to clean it up than I can manage. Included in the offer is a nearly full bottle of "DeSolve-it" "Sticky Stuff Remover" so all you'll need is a cloth to add to the elbow grease and patience to make it a great digital radio that doesn't collect dust. Free: Large Quantity (260+) of music cassettes (Ravelston EH4) Gifted This is 8 plastic trays of 32 compact music cassettes, plus several more double cassettes which don't fit in the trays. Free: Clarke 5 in 1 Jump Starter, Inverter Power Supply (faulty) (Ravelston EH4) Gifted This has an internal fault where trying to run the Tyre Inflator cuts out immediately. If you know what you are doing, it might be an easy fix, but it is NOT the external fuse which seems to be in perfect condition. It must be a short-circuit inside the case. To open the case, you will need a long-reach Philips screwdriver as all the screws which hold the case together are deeply recessed. When it works properly, this should give you: 1. Jump Starter for your car 2. Tyre inflator for cars, bikes etc. 3. 230V Inverter with temp mains voltage power supply through the 3-pin 13 amp socket 4. USB Charger sockets for running or recharging USB devices 5. Free: Rustproof garden storage trunk (Ravelston EH4) Gifted Beige coloured plastic storage trunk for outdoor storage - e.g garden tools. In good condition with no visible damage but a bit dusty and could do with a clean. The make is "Outstanding", probably bought at Costco or Homebase If you reply, please give your mobile number to arrange collection at a mutually agreeable time, at the weekend or early next week It is almost 4 feet long and 2 feet high so is a fair size. The dimensions in cm are 53 x 59 high x 118. In inches, that's 21 x 23 x 46. It is quite lightweight so could easily be put in the back of an estate car or van by one person, but two people would be better for handling it as it is. Or it can be dismantled into flat sections for easier handling, but many of the parts are still 46 inches long (c. 120cm) so it needs a bit of space for transport. It's rustproof plastic, not lockable but should keep things dry as it's fairly rainproof. Water will seep up from the bottom if it ends up in a puddle

Free: Vintage (1960s) Morphy Richards Convection Heater (Ravelston EH4) Expired This is a 1960s convection heater which is still in good working order with a thermostat. It will heat a small to medium sized room without any noise as there is no fan. The case has some rusty spots which are clearly visible in the photo, but it should clear up well with a bit of careful light sanding.

Free: SCSI Tower/PC for spares or repair - needs SCSI hard drive (Ravelston EH4) Expired This is a large solidly built all-SCSI Tower PC that would make a good server if you can install the SCSI disks. It has a Pentium 450 CPU and it already at the max memory which the motherboard will support (256MB, I think) so it is a bit underpowered for WIndows 10 or 11, but would be OK as a Windows Server server. It has an Adaptec 2940 SCSI adapter, external SCSI connection port, a SCSI CD read-write drive and a SCSI DVD drive (read-only) and several other extra bits of kit, so it could be broken down for components to use or sell as spares on Ebay. The components include LS-120 drive instead of a floppy disk drive Network card TV Tuner 4x USB 2.0 ports PSU with pass-through socket for powering a monitor Sound card - see pictures for more details It was custom built by Grampian Computers in Perth to be a top-of the range PC/Tower (at the time) with plenty of expansion options. and all the parts are in good working order despite it's age. It booted up no problem this morning but will a new hard drive to work now, All the SCSI cables and Hard Drive power supplies are still in place and the case is quite easy to open. It is large (64cm high X 19cm wide) and heavy, so will need a car with a decent sized boot to collect. Free: HP Laserjet 4050 (Ravelston EH4) Expired Professional office quality with built-in networking and double-sided printing. Monochrome (black & white) printing only, but it uses big toner cartridges which make it cheap to run overall. And you can get any compatible replacement cartridges, unlike new HP printers which will only accept much pricier HP-only cartridges. And the cartridge in it is still about half full. The one I'm offering has been in unused in storage for a while but was working fine before it went into storage. It is now a bit dusty and will need a clean. It is heavy and will need a car with a big boot to collect it. Going to the re-cycling centre at the end of the week if no-one is interested.
